We invite you to join our post exhibition online discussion on UK-China Digital Connectivity, Song of the Female Textile Workers, between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 18th March 2021.
The exhibition has been held on the Leeds Industrial Museum Website: https://museumsandgalleries.leeds.gov.uk/leeds-industrial-museum/song-of-the-female-textile-workers/ throughout the Chinese Spring Festival period.

We will be discussing the shared historical memories of textile industrial heydays across Shanghai and Leeds/Yorkshire and shared challenges in reconnecting heritage sites with our local communities in the post-industrial era. Using Leeds Industrial Museum and Shanghai Textile Museum as examples, the discussion seeks your views on how best to use our local heritage, both tangible (ie. former industrial sites) and intangible (music, dance etc), in order to seek commonality and connectivity between global cities and communities.

The event will be hosted jointly by University of Leeds and Leeds Industrial Museum - chaired by Dr Haili Ma (Ass. Prof. of Performance and Creative Economy at University of Leeds) and Mr Christopher Sharp (Community Curator at Leeds Industrial Museum).

The discussion event is free to all who wish to join us and will be held online using Zoom.
