Medea

The play is set in Corinth and centres around Medea, a woman who is abandoned by her husband Jason to pursue a more politically-advantageous marriage. Completely consumed by despair and rage, she seeks revenge by enacting a gruesome plan of murder, leading to a tragic climax. The play looks at themes of betrayal, womanhood and the consequences of unbridled emotions.
