The School Performance and Cultural Industries PLACE research group invite you to join us to hear about current place-based research and think about:

  • What does a focus on performance and cultural industries bring to an understanding of place?
  • How does place-based research inform understanding of performance and the cultural industries?

 

Invited speaker: Prof Abi Gilmore, Professor of Cultural Policy, Art History and Cultural Practices based at the University of Manchester

Title: Place, infrastructure and the spatial politics of cultural policy
Bio: Professor Gilmore’s research concerns the relationships between culture, policy and place governance. Based within the field of critical cultural policy studies, her approach foregrounds collaboration and interdisciplinary research practice and mixed methods.
