Profile
I trained as an actor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts before gaining a 1st class degree in popular music at Bretton Hall College, University of Leeds. Prior to becoming artistic director at stage@leeds I was the associate director and director of education at Harrogate Theatre. I am the artistic director of Screaming Media Productions and the founder of Gi60 (the worlds only international one minute theatre festival, which takes places annually in the UK and US.) I am also an associate artist at the Viaduct Theatre, Halifax.
I have directed work in the UK and the US, including the premiere of Dennis Kelly's 'DNA' at the National Theatre in London. I have a strong interest in Chinese theatre co-wrote and directed 'A Dream Under the Southern Bough' an adaptation of Chinese playwright Tang Xianzu’s ‘Nanke Ji’ I have a keen interest in bilingual theatre. My research interest also include Sustainable Theatre, Ensemble Theatre and Site Responsive performance. In addition to my theatrical work I am musician and songwriter currently performing with ‘Good Earth Collective'.
