Charley Brooks, Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance, is celebrating his tenth wedding anniversary. However, there’s no food, no hostess and Charley has accidentally shot himself through the ear! To avoid a political scandal, the guests wildly improvise more and more elaborate lies and rumours until nobody is sure what’s going on. When the police arrive, one of them must pretend to be Charley and the evening ends with an extraordinary revelation in the basement. Add an overemotional psychiatrist, a sarcastic accountant, and a chef called ‘Cookie’ who gets extreme back spasms, and you’ve got a recipe for hilarity!
